Bundesliga Fan Clubs Take Chicago
April 30, 2019
Last week, Germany Week hosted a live stream of the infamous Revierderby rivalry between BVB Dortmund and Schalke 04. Fans from both the Dortmund and Schalke Midwestern fan clubs came together to enjoy the game and a few beers at Daley Plaza.
Dortmund’s loss may have struck a blow to their championship hopes, but fans of each club were excited to see their favorite teams compete, even if they weren’t happy with the result.
“It’s just about the soccer. It’s a peaceful game,” said Andy Stecher of the BVB Midwest Fan Club. “The soccer and the camaraderie,” agreed his counterpart on the Schalke side.
Now, in the final weeks of the season, FC Bayern Munich leads BVB Dortmund by only two points at the top of the table. That makes this weekend’s matchups critical for deciding who will take this year’s Bundesliga title. Join Wunderbar Together and fan clubs of each team at Daley Plaza for a live stream of both games this Saturday, April 30!
First up at 8:30am, FC Bayern Munich will attempt to put away last-place Hannover 96 and stay at the top of the Bundesliga table.
Fresh off their loss from last week, BVB Dortmund will fight to keep its championship hopes alive against Werder Bremen at 11:30.
