Hexadome at SXSW – Pushing the Limits of Audio-Visual Experience
March 21, 2019
Among the many performances, films, and presentations that appeared at SXSW 2019, few brought together so many genres and media formats into a single immersive experience quite like the ISM Hexadome. This massive audio-visual projection and sound-system provides a mesmerizing blend of projected images and elements, lasers, and atmospheric effects designed to accompany musical selections with the goal of redefining our understanding of music as a strictly auditory medium. The Hexadome is a travelling installation designed and produced by the Institute for Sound and Music of Berlin and is now being showcased around the US as part of the Year of German American Friendship and Wunderbar Together.
