MEUTE Begins their US Tour in Washington, DC
October 16, 2019
MEUTE, one of Hamburg’s most exciting music groups, is currently touring the US, bringing their unique blend of techno and marching band music to venues from Nashville to West Hollywood. At each show, MEUTE uses acoustic instruments to create a club feeling akin to a DJ set. Whether in a concert hall or on the street, Meute’s performances are sure to get everyone dancing.
The fun began with the first stop of MEUTE’s North American tour at U Street Music Hall in Washington, DC. Hundreds of fans packed the venue to dance along with the band’s 11 musicians, who performed both on stage and in the audience among fans!
The next night, MEUTE moved to a completely different venue to help celebrate the Day of German Unity with the German Embassy at a massive celebration held at the Ambassador’s residence. This year, the Embassy was also celebrating the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Meute welcomed guests to the Residence with a spirited set near the party’s entrance.
MEUTE capped off an exciting week with a final open air performance in one of Washington’s most iconic locations: the Lincoln Memorial. Overlooking the Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument, the band played a full set of their best songs in front of a large crowd and Honest Abe himself. Old and new fans quickly formed a circle around the band soon after they began to play and were impressed by what they heard!
Fans weren’t the only people in the audience. Journalists from the German public broadcaster NDR also made the trip to see what the excitement was about. Their report on the performance made it all the way across the pond to be featured on German television.
