MUTEK.SF Brings German Artists to San Francisco

May 13, 2019

Digital artists and musicians flocked to San Francisco, California for MUTEK.SF, the American iteration of the genre-breaking festival celebrating the cutting edge in music, art, and technology originally held in Montreal, Canada. The four-day festival took place March 2-5 in venues across San Francisco and featured a blend of international luminaries with artists from the local community.

Among these international luminaries were three German artists who brought their own take on visual effects and digital art to an American audience: Dopplereffekt, Emptyset, and Aisha Devi.

The “MU” in “MUTEK” refers to “mutation” and encourages artists to think outside of the box and stretch the limits of digital art with diverse, experimental programming with an avant-garde flair. The result is a festival full of striking visuals and a focus on innovation that gives visitors a one-of-a-kind experience.

The above video is only a snapshot of the diverse exhibitions and performances that took place. See more online at the MUTEK.SF website.
