This week’s story was written by Andrew Gale about finding a new home in Bavaria.

Last summer, I was fortunate enough to be able to spend a week in Germany with a German-American family. Being of German heritage and never really having a personal connection to it, I had always wanted to visit Germany. From the minute I left Flughafen München, I felt at home. Aside from the Alps, the land looks very similar to where I live. The German people I found to be warm, very friendly, ready to laugh and excited to meet an American. The land itself in Germany is beautiful! The first real mountains I had ever seen were in Germany and I’ll never forget it. Seeing all the corn growing reminded me of my family back home who were also farmers. I honestly can say I fell in love with Germany, especially the small towns and the countryside. There are just so many exciting things to see and do there I cannot list them all. But my trip to Germany was life changing and I cannot wait to return!
