This week’s story was written by Daniella Bega-Silva about Christmastime in Germany.
I just moved back to the United States after four years of living in Germany. During that time, I made it a point to visit as many places as I could and truly soak up the culture. I built so many friendships and relationships—ones that will last the rest of my life. As the holidays approach, I can’t help but think of last year; I knew I was leaving, so I went to my favorite Christmas Markets and cities, saw some of my closest Deutsche friends, ate as many holiday goodies, went to Christmas services at church, drank as much Glühwein as I could, and bought as many Christmas decorations as possible! I am so grateful for the amazing opportunities and possibilities presented to me during my time in Germany, and I await the time until I can go back with great anticipation.
