Hertha BSC Tears Down Walls with the Twin Cities German Immersion School
07.Juni 2019
This year, the city of Berlin is celebrating 30 years of unity after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. Hertha BSC, the city’s premier soccer club, celebrated this anniversary and advocated for a tolerant, open-minded world with the Tear Down Walls Tour through the United States.
The tour featured friendly matches against Minnesota United FC and Forward Madison FC as well as a series of events engaging with local communities in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and California.
Before their game at Allianz field in St Paul, Minnesota, the Hertha players and coaches visited Twin Cities Immersion School, the largest school of its kind in the United States, to speak to classes and kick around with students.
Students were excited to meet the players and practice their language skills and experience German culture firsthand on their own campus.
