This Wednesday, July 10th, the German Marshall Fund of the United States welcomed Altmaier at their headquarters. The minister sat down with Karen Donfried, GMF’s President, to talk about the state of transatlantic relations and the future of European-American trade.
This week, German Chancellor attended the 368th commencement ceremony at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During the morning exercises, Chancellor Merkel was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree by the historic American university. In the afternoon, Chancellor Merkel delivered the commencement address for 20,000 graduates, faculty, and guests.
This year, Germany is celebrating 100 years of women’s suffrage. In recognition of this milestone, the European Academy for Women in Politics and Economy (EAF) organized the Women in Local Leadership series to empower women and encourage diversity in leadership.
The American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) has released some of the results from their Wunderbar Together research project entitled “Integration: Made in Germany.”
