Clownin’ Around with Circus Mojo
May 28, 2019

Circus Mojo is a youth and adult circus arts program where physical skills like juggling, balancing, and stilt-walking coalesce with forms of creative expression like improvisation, character development, and group performance. In this multidimensional program that combines artistry with athleticism, students conquer doubt and learn a varied skill set in a collaborative, non-competitive environment.
Circus Mojo’s mission is to teach and present the circus arts with a fresh perspective and encourage everyone to express their unique mojo—talent, zeal, confidence, drive, and spirit.
The circus is a form of community entertainment with a rich history on both sides of the Atlantic. Over the past 15 years there has been an incredible network developed between circus artists, world class athletes, and community development specialists.
For 12 years, Circus Mojo has engaged in this transatlantic cooperation, participating in an exchange with CircArtive Pimparello, a group based in Gschwend, Germany. Each year, the group alternates hosting young artists from the other troupe to develop their skills in front of a new audience.
Performers from both countries visited this year’s Germany Week in Chicago to bring an exciting show packed with juggling, acrobatics, and a dose of humor to Daley Plaza.
When not performing at events and parties, Circus Mojo offers classes in English, Spanish, and German, hosts summer camps and visits children’s hospitals. Find out more about the Circus at their website and follow them on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
