Renowned Director Andreas Dresen Speaks at the German Currents Film Festival in LA

The German Currents Film Festival brought the best in contemporary German cinema to the historic Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles, California. The three-day festival began with a talk with the acclaimed German director Andreas Dresen and a screening of his prize-winning film Gundermann.
Dresen, whose first documentary, Jenseits von Klein Wanzleben, debuted shortly before the Berlin Wall fell, spoke to the audience about his memory of 1989 and the tumultuous years that followed. He discussed his artistic process and the importance of film in acquainting viewers with the character of this history.
Following the talk, Dresen even took the time to quickly serenade the audience with his ukulele!
