As the year of German-American Friendship comes to a close at the end of 2019, the Wunderbar Together team at the Goethe-Institut Washington would like to thank the hundreds of partners and hundreds of thousands of attendees who made working on this project so special! This initiative would not have been so successful without your countless contributions.
The Wunderbar Together team, which hails from both sides of the Atlantic, from Washington State to Florida and from Bavaria to Berlin, is grateful to have worked with all of you! No matter where we call home, we’ve had a blast working together and learning more every day about German-American friendship in business, culture, education, science, sports, and more!
Junior Firefighters from Germany and the US Train Together in Nassau County, NY
This year, as a part of Wunderbar Together, a group of 14 junior firefighters and 3 supervisors from the Jugendfeuerwehr Haverlah in Lower Saxony, Germany joined their American counterparts for Camp Fahrenheit 516 in Nassau County, New York.Read More
What does #WunderbarTogether Mean to You?
At this year’s Federal Government Open House in Berlin, more than 12,000 visitors were able to tour the German Foreign Office’s headquarters in central Berlin, attend a forum with Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, and take part in fun activities related to foreign policy. Visitors to the Open House each wrote a note describing what #WunderbarTogether meant to them.Read More
WanderbUS Stops in Chicago
The Goethe WanderbUS is traveling to 60 schools this year on a mission to visit students in all 48 contiguous states. Most recently, the WanderbUS brought its exciting program of interactive technology and fun language games to Hayt Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois. Johannes Ebert, Chairman of the Board for Goethe-Institut, attended the event to meet with students and join in on the fun!Read More
