U.S. Congress Considers H. Res. 446 on German-American Friendship
October 30, 2019

On October 18, 2019, Pennsylvania Representative Glenn Thompson spoke to the House of Representatives in Washington, DC about recognizing October as German-American Heritage Month. In a joint effort with Congressman Bill Keating, his minute-long speech reintroduced and supported bipartisan resolution H. Res. 446.
As Co-Chair of the Congressional German-American Caucus, Rep. Thompson and Congressman Keating aim to highlight German contributions to our country. They wish to emphasize the importance of the modern German-American relationship and the influence of our friendship on this history of the world.
“I urge my colleagues to join Congressman Keating and I in supporting H. Res. 446 and celebrating our longstanding relationship with Germany as friends and allies,” Rep. Thompson spoke.
Previously introduced in summer 2019, the German-American Caucus supports Wunderbar Together and our initiatives celebrating German-American culture, businesses, arts and more. The historical relationship between Germany and the US has been relevant throughout the history of the United States and should be recognized nationwide for its significance and ongoing contributions.
