President Frank-Walter Steinmeier Opens Historic Joint Concert in Boston Symphony Hall

On October 31, the final day of German American Heritage Month, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier attended a historic joint concert featuring Leipzig’s renowned Gewandhausorchester and the Boston Symphony Orchestra, the first of its kind featuring two world-class orchestras on a single stage. The event marked the official end of the Year of German-American friendship with a night filled with music by Heiden, Strauss, and Schönberg.

On October 31, Wunderbar Together will celebrate the official end of the Year of German-American Friendship with Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier with a joint concert by the Leipzig Gewandhausorchester and the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Boston.  This concert, the first of three, will be the first time that the two orchestras will perform together on stage.

World Leaders Gather in Portsmouth, United Kingdom to Commemorate the 75th Anniversary of D-Day

On June 5, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and US President Donald Trump joined World War II veterans and the heads of state of 13 other countries for a moving ceremony dedicated to those who stormed the beaches of Normandy as a part of Operation Overlord. The efforts of these brave soldiers led to an Allied victory that turned the tide of the war on the continent and built the foundation for our current German-American friendship.
